The main attractions of Macedonia include:
- Kastoria: city built on a picturesque lake with old city districts, narrow alleys, mansions from the 18th and 19th century and Byzantine churches.
- Traces of a prehistoric settlement (5,500 BC) have been found along Lake Kastoria near the town of Dispilio. A small open-air museum has been created where the atmosphere of that time is represented in a very credible way.
- Prespa lake: beautiful nature and three countries point between Macedonia (FYROM), Albania and Greece.
- Nymfaio: here you can visit the reserve of the brown bear (Arcturos)
- Edessa: waterfalls and the old Varosi district.
- Pella: ruins of a Greek city from Macedonian antiquity. The birthplace of Alexander the Great.
- Lefkadia: in the vicinity of Lefkadia there are a number of Hellenistic burial mounds in the middle of the fruit orchards.
- Naousa: known wine region ("Boutari").
- Vergina: various royal tombs (listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List). A beautiful museum inside the burial mound. Unfortunately, photography in the museum is forbidden.
- Dion: ruins of a city from the 3rd to the 5th century.
- Kerkini Lake: the lake is a reservoir with unique nature that is the habitat of many bird species, frogs, salamanders, turtles and lizards. In the area also lives the water buffalo, it is the largest buffalo colony in Greece. Near the lake is also the beautiful nunnery Akritogoreiou Timios Prodromos.
- Kavala: modern city that is amphitheatre-built with several beautiful (Turkish) sights in the old city such as the Byzantine castle, the Kamares aqueduct, the house of Mehmet Ali (18th century) and the Imaret etc
- Palia Kavala: just a few kilometres from Kavala is a beautiful walking / nature trail through a forest and along a stream. There is also a water mill to visit that was used in ancient times to grind flour. Along the walking path you will pass a 15 meter high waterfall and an old marble quarry.
- Philipi: archaeological excavation from the time of King Philip II (father of Alexander the Great).
- Lydia: in the neighbourhood of Philipi is the contemporary baptistery of Lydia. In 49 AD. Apostle Paul converted the first woman on European soil to Christianity.
- Lion of Amphipolis
- Chalkidiki: the 3 peninsulas Kassandra, Sithonia, Mount Athos with, among other things, beautiful (sandy) beaches. (see a separate page)
