Attica (Athens Riviera) is the smallest district of the mainland, but also the most densely populated region of Greece. This is mainly due to the capital Athens and the biggest port of Greece, Piraeus. The peninsula is bordered on the east by the Aegean Sea and in the south to the Saronic Gulf.
